Golden Dragon opened its
doors in 1982, on the border of the neighboring towns of Conshohocken and
Plymouth Meeting, in what is known as the PlymouthSquareShopping Center. The Golden
Dragon has witnessed the coming and going of many shops, delis, and retail
stores. At that time the shopping center
was comprised of a Super Fresh Grocery Market, which has now become a
Genuardi’s, a Woolworths, now an Eckerd, Franzone’s Pizza, now a Salad Store,
and Gus’ Barber Shop, which is still Gus’s.
Golden Dragon opened with
the foresight of feeding a community and most importantly the family who
started and run the establishment to this very day. The Long family, Chinese immigrants from Vietnam, is made up two grandparents and their six
children. The restaurant is still run by
the grandmother, her three daughters with their spouses, and their offspring.
Golden Dragon opened to
share the food of the Long family with anyone who walks though the doors. They have grown with their patrons and will
continue to provide quality service, delicious food, and an environment that is
as familiar to you, as your own dining room table.
